met on May 9th, 2020 when Morgan hired Steven to play music at her parents special date night event. After a friend noted how cute the musician was, Morgan shot her shot for the first time ever.
With Covid keeping everything closed, they spent their first several dates meeting somewhere between Spruce Grove and Fort Saskatchewan to sit in a car, listen to music, and talk for hours and hours on end
Morgan & Steven...
and then,
just 3 weeks later, they shared their first "I love you's". Followed closely by the two of them moving into Steven's parent's basement, then Andie & Derek's basement, and finally their first apartment in September 2020. They spent lots of time on the road, travelling to Steven's different shows and falling more and more in love.
Then there
was Walter
Morgan begged Steven for a whole year for a dog of their own. Steven was hesitant, but after briefly fostering a kitten one night, he realized how much he enjoyed a little furry companion.
Barely 24 hours later, Morgan found Walter the cowboy corgi on Kijiji and, with some persuasion, they were off to Calgary to meet the new member of their little family.
and then
the proposal
came in November 2021. Steven started planning the big question in September, armed with a picture of the ring Morgan showed him in their very first month of dating. After buying the ring, Steven panicked realizing he had no plan. He contacted Nicole (their wedding planner) who helped curate a beautiful experience at her office space for Steven's proposal!
